Copper Giant Resources Corp (TSXV: CGNT) (OTCQB: LBCMF) caught our attention recently, due largely to its most famous shareholder. Mining industry magnate Frank Giustra boosted his ownership stake in Copper Giant from 11% to 13.27%, purchasing additional shares on the open market, the company revealed in a social media (X) post on December 2, 2025.
“My continued investment in Copper Giant is driven by the outsized potential I see at Mocoa. Tier-one copper deposits are rare, and the world needs them now more than ever. I’m confident the company is unlocking long-term value for shareholders,” Giustra said in a statement.
Copper Giant Resources is developing its 100%-owned Mocoa copper-molybdenum porphyry project in Colombia. An updated resource estimate, released in November, showed an Inferred resource of 12.7 billion pounds copper-equivalent, at an average grade of 0.51%, including 7.6 billion pounds of copper at 0.31% copper and 1.0 billion pounds of molybdenum (moly) at 0.039% moly.
Copper Giant called Mocoa “one of world’s largest undeveloped molybdenum resources.” It acquired the project from B2Gold in 2018.
On February 17, 2026, the company announced what is expected to be its largest drilling campaign to date at Mocoa. About 23,000 metres of directional drilling is planned, an increase of more than 80% from last year.
The drill program’s objectives include testing new district-scale targets, potentially upgrading the Inferred resources to the Indicated category, and hopefully advancing the project toward a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) later this year.
Copper Giant Resources has about 203 million shares outstanding, giving the company a market cap of around $162 million at its current stock price of $0.80. Nearly 30% of those shares, however, are owned by company management, insiders, and affiliates.
