August 31, 2026 — Decade Resources Ltd (TSXV: DEC) shares jumped 65% to $0.165, on volume of more than 9.5 million shares, Monday after the junior explorer announced that the first hole of its Phase 1 drill program at the Bonaparte copper-gold property in British Columbia has intersected porphyry-style copper mineralization at depth. Decade noted that it was the first hole ever drilled to test beneath a high chargeability anomaly.
The company added that mineralization is open to depth.
Geologists from the British Columbia Geological Survey, Ministry of Energy, Mines and Natural Gas have speculated that the Bonaparte deposit represents an upper level of a buried gold-copper porphyry system, according to the company. This interpretation is supported by a strong chargeability (induced polarization) anomaly beginning at around 300 metres depth, as outlined by a historic technical report prepared for previous operators.
Decade said the latest intersection supports the buried porphyry model.
The Bonaparte property is located within the Kamloops Mining Division, a region that hosts some of British Columbia’s major porphyry copper mines, including Highland Valley and New Afton. Decade Resources acquired the right to earn an 80% undivided interest in Bonaparte’s mineral claims in October.
The property has historically produced 3322 ounces of gold. At least nine gold bearing quartz veins have been located to date on the property through trenching and drilling. High grade gold-copper veins are thought to be situated throughout the property.
Decade Resources noted that this first drill hole (DDH 1) was collared to test the porphyry copper-gold potential of a large chargeability anomaly related to the Discovery Zone, where multi-ounce gold assays were intersected in historic drilling, trenching, and underground workings.
